Hector is a London born filmmaker whose early years were split between Scotland and Tokyo; contrasting worlds that continue to shape his perspective and storytelling. He began making films as a child and, since graduating film school in 2015, has worked across the industry on everything from large-scale features to self-shot projects. He wrote, directed, produced and edited his debut feature Jack & Isabella (2022), which premiered at the Prince Charles Cinema in London. His second film, Sunflower Thieves (2024), a melodrama road movie shot in Spain, is currently on the festival circuit. Working with minimal resources and a long-standing, small crew, his films embrace a guerrilla approach to storytelling, blending realism with a lyrical, dreamlike edge. Now based in Switzerland as part of the Basel Filmhaus residency, Hector is developing his next feature with the aim of scaling up from guerrilla roots to a fully financed, large-scale Swiss production. He is keen to meet actors, performers and artists alike, whilst seeking a producer and institutional backing to realise the film at its full potential.
