Sonia Mackwani is an Indian-Swiss author, therapist, filmmaker, impact producer, and social
entrepreneur. Founder of Touching Lives (NGO) in India and Switzerland, she has over two
decades of experience integrating education, mental health, art, and storytelling for social
and spiritual evolution. She has authored fiction and non-fiction books for children and
adults. Her work has supported individuals across diverse backgrounds and sexualities in
rehabs, prisons, organizations, refugee camps, schools, and corporates worldwide.
She is Co-founder and Creative Head of Guidant Films which has Co-Produced BAYAAN
selected for TIFF 2025. Her short film SPACE premiered at Michael Moore’s Traverse City
Film Festival. She assisted on the award-winning feature documentary CHILD OF NATURE
and collaborated on numerous projects. PILOT was selected for HessenLab 2024, Frankfurt,
winning second prize for its script. Sonia won the Best Director Award for PILOT in Symbiosis
Film Festival, India.
