Darina Manapova is 26 years old. She is a student in the master's program at the «Turan Film Academy», which is located in Almaty (Kazakhstan). Darina has a degree in teaching from the College of Arts and also has a bachelor's degree in Film Studies. Darina has numerous diplomas from master classes and creative meetings. She is certified as «Activist of the Year» and «Student of the Year» at the academy. Darina is the winner of two special scholarships. She was a participant in a workshop at the 37th «Fajr International Film Festival», Darina was invited to a residency at the Basel House of Film and was also a participant in the «Talent Camp» at the 46th Swiss Youth Film Festival. Darina has 6 short films and has directed a television series. All of Darina's films were participants in local and international film festivals, and some of them became winners. In 2019, Darina's film «Maulen» was part of the official competition program «Wide Angle: Asian Short Films» of the 24th «Busan International Film Festival». Darina worked as a volunteer and was part of the team at several of Kazakhstan's film festivals, such as «Bastau Iff», «Baikonur IFF», and «Eurasia IFF». Darina is in search of a unique style. She prefers to use the form of parable and metaphor in her films. The main theme of Darina's films is self-identification.
